>>36268423That's debatable, the grass doesn't have any shadows at all. I would suspect they're using a built in light source but calculating the grass shadows tanked their framerate so they made it only affect Ivysaur and Red, seriously lazy work.
In the LGPE screenshot the background grass at least has a little detail and blending painted on to give the illusion of shadow and depth, something that asset flippers can't or won't do.
The lighting also makes the models stand out against the background, which can be an alright choice, but in this case it accentuates the fact everything is pulled together from different source and not designed to be in the same scene.
It's the same old story. These little toy simulations have shitloads of detail but ultimately show no thought or design whatsoever. I guarantee you the people who made it spent more time getting the models they ripped imported correctly into whatever engine they used than anything else.
