Think about it. In a time when we didn't know about Brionne, Torracat and Dartrix, the final evolutions leaked far ahead of Gamefreak officially announcing the middle evos. So what kind of studio would have access to artwork of the final evos, but not the middle evos? How come the artwork was in low resolution, and apparently from files since the leaker didn't need to photograph them? If it was the anime team, wouldn't they want the artwork in full resolution? Wouldn't it make more sense to give them physical copies of the artworks?
What if it's because the studio wasn't related to pokemon at all? What if they only needed the final evolutions... to look through and figure out who would make for best fighter material in a fighting-focused game like Smash Bros?
If Incineroar is the smash newcomer and one of its attacks is the asian mist we saw in the concept art, then it will just prove my suspicions right.
