I'm laughing as I think TPCi are killing off the traditional spin-off (going more the mobileshit route from here on out) and Game Freak are taking over with Let's Go series to give them time to work on the cores. The staffing increases feed into this(they've another round of recruitment coming up in 2019 too). Game Freak don't WANT to have to shit out a core game every year or thereabouts. But due to needing to keep the brand visible (especially in this day and age) they had to. Now all of a sudden, they're taking more time with a core game and still keeping the brand visible and the board is losing their shit, it's hilarious.
