Pokemon GO raked in approximately 2 billion dollars in 2 years. Of course there's interest in keeping it alive. A huge number of people redownloaded it after the LGPE trailer dropped, and player counts have gone up too. GameFreak, Nintendo and Niantic aren't stupid. They found a market and they're capitalizing.

Anyone that played the mobile game are not going to buy a Switch. They won't already have a Switch.

Trying to sell a mobile game port on a console is just silly. They are opposing markets with very little crossover.
