After you finish the first trial it picks up pace and there's no more tutorial to it. They get longer though, if you just hate story then the game doesn't offer much else.

imo BW2 is a better game, the story continues in an interesting direction and the region is fleshed out a little more. It's up there as one of the my favorite of the series.

Yeah, because at the time they were insanely hand-holdy and linear compared to the rest of the series. Now we have Gen 7, which is just a long ass hallway where you're stopped by 4 different people every 10 steps.

Black and White 2 are sequels to Black and White.
New protags, new story, new towns and locations, bunch of stuff from the previous games is revamped. bunch of Pokemon from previous gens are all over the place.

they only stop once you've pretty much beat the entire game. it does get good after that but I'm reluctant to say it was worth it.
ORAS is a lot of fun and imo the best pokemon game out right now due to the great world building but objectively the best games are potentially any from Gen 5

God /vp/ is the most dumbshit board there is. Actually suggesting OP players X/Y, the objectively easiest games with the most hand-holding friend characters, instead. I don't even think X/Y is bad or much different in quality to Gen 7, but the barefaced lying and hypocrisy you guys shit through your teeth just to shit on Gen 7 some more is astounding.

Not sure about the Ultras, but at least the originals get a whole lot better about making the gating feel more natural once you're done with Malie Garden at the beginning of the third island.
