I remember doing something like this when I was younger, I'd put up the Pokemon I needed for a lv.100 Masquerain that I obtained somehow and swapped it between cartridges to keep trading with myself.
As long as you use some shitty obscure Pokemon your odds of getting sniped are lowered significantly.
