Sugimori says Venusaur is a frog.
Most people including the Japanese who have no -saur in their Pokemon didn't see Venusaur line as a frog.
Who is to blame for this?
Ken Sugimori's difficulty to draw a frog with a flower (as he says) or the anime?

Compare Venusaur to all the Pokemon based PURELY on frogs and there's an obvious difference.

And NOT a frog. Toads and Frogs are very different. Frogs live in trees and in water, depending on the species, while toads live almost exclusively on the ground, in thick forests, under rocks and fallen leaves.

In those games, it hit me that he was a frog because he moved kind of like one, but in his sprites he always seemed more like a dinosaur of sorts.
