One assumes if you treat an animal alrighty feed it, and affectionately keep it company it will bear no particular ill will toward you and may even have some loyalty to you. The same should be assumed for something that could fuck with a beings thoughts.
Remember a human has the size advantage over an espeon, and being bigger is more fear inducing than any other factor.
Theres a fuckload of aussie spiders that could have you killed or sent to the hospital but will scurry away almost always because you are humongous in comparison.
I'm sure an espeon feels the same way. Sure it could fuck with you if you back it into a corner with bad intentions, but treat one okay from the get-go and it will simply see your...fetishes...as little more than a quirk that "this bigger creature that regularly feeds me and keels me warm/company" has.
