Starting in Moon, I’ve tried my absolute darndest to only ever use standard Poké Balls. I even did this for all of the Legendaries, including every Ultra Beast in both my own game and my brother’s Sun he put down as soon as he hit the Hall of Fame. I still have 50 Beast Balls in my bag on both of those games.
Except for shinies, though.
I use Premier Balls on them.
(Sometimes in Moon I used Luxury Balls on Pokémon evolving via happiness if I remembered.)
