It had a few comfy areas like Melemele Island (even though small af) and the northen part of Akkala Island, but it had too many problems and unused areas/areas that could've been bigger, like the volcano, no sea routes (hell, it's a fucking archipelago) and Poni Island feels kinda empty in my opinion...
So yeah, I'm gonna miss some of the things, like regional variants and the idea of Trials, but on the other hand, Rotom is just annoying, Z-Moves were a horrible replacement for Megas, the eternal tutorial cutscenes, Totem Fights were so lagged that only proved the game had almost no beta testing, "Ultra Changes" that didn't involve any new Alolan variants, just like, 3 ultra beasts (two of them being horrible), and so on...
Overall, I'm glad we're leaving Alola, I just hope that gen 8 will be more about the original gameplay style, since Let's Go is pandering to casual gameplay, which is nice, but it's not the type of game I'm expecting, so we'll see... Gen 8 is kinda my last bet on the Pokémon franchise
