As for the timeline Matsumiya has acknowledged it on twitter though this was back in XY and doesn't mention multiverse though it doesn't necessarily dismiss it as fake, perhaps they didn't thought about it yet
Again, if they acknowledge a continuity in the series then we have to accept new evidence presented in the latest game as canon despite how badly it is written
And boy we agree in that aspect, i also hate the multiverse as mentioned in my first post, i find it as a cheap way to try to wrap things up without much thought given
For example i would have preferred for UBs to come from outer space or something, they have previously established there are pokemon in space so why not try to explore that before we get into DC/Marvel territory
