Think about it, no one criticizes what they are doing because it still sells, and because it still sells they don't get the market feedback they need to improve, so he continues even further with his ideas about what Pokemon needs to do to be relevant without any signs of stopping.

But you can tell at least some part of the company is scared, especially the higher ups, considering they felt the need to lowkey announce a gen 8 "for the fans, we promise" title literally at the same time they announced LGPE. Someone up there knew shit wouldn't fly.

I hope the games get low (lower than expected) sales, and then massive complaints after release just so Masuda gets BTFO and fired, but let's be honest, it won't. happen.

I'm just glad that we don't really need to worry about LGPE ever effecting the core games.

If I do ever pick it up, it is either going to be used or heavily on sale way down the line. I really don't want to pick it up at launch brand new for $60 bucks when Smash is just a few weeks away and is looking much more enjoyable to me. I'm glad SSBU is currently doing better than this trash. The contrast between Hal/Smash/Sakurai and GameFreak/Pokemon/Musada is amazing.
Sakurai and his team have overworked themselves to points where some of them nearly died, all to pack in as much content into a single Smash game and to appease everyone from casual to more hardcore fans.
Musada on the other hand takes vacations to "get inspired" on what new region the next Gen will be based on, adds only 1 or 2 major features per Gen that will eventually be removed because "lol the previous games are still out", and adds some new minigame or something.
Sakurai also would never say something like "We feel like little Japanese kids are too busy playing flappy bird, so we removed classic mode and stages don't have FD/Battlefield forms anymore". On the contrary, Sakurai has said multiple times that he wants to please everyone.
Musada on the other hand openly stated that he's focusing on satisfying literally one group, being those little Japanese boys for the """""""hardcore""""""" games. LGPE is just proof GameFreak in general doesn't care about anyone other than little kids, genwunners, and GOfags.

Why do people keep spouting this worthless argument? It’s like comparing Peppa Pig and a Pixar movie. Peppa Pig is for kids only, no grown up would unironically watch it. But a Pixar movie is kid-friendly, easy to understand, but also appeals to a wide demographic (and often has some deeper meaning).

The worst thing that happened to Gamefreak was getting so extremely paranoid and scared of the smartphone market that they are constantly trying to make the games easier and more appealing for the current generation (braindead kiddies) so that they keep getting high sales even though this paranoia is completely unjustified if they would just spend 5 minutes on the internet to see that mostly adults play Pokemon anyway and that they shit out enough money each year no matter what they do.

It's been one step forward and three steps back every generation with masuda's autism but pokemon will continue to sell well to people who eat shit. The real horse pill to swallow is that we're not the target market and a half decent mainline isn't something they want to make. You can make quite a few free choices in RBY actually. And in GSC basically all of Kanto is non-linear. Gens 3 and 4 at least have a few options too. I think there are kinks to work out and I don't think I'd want full open world but regions are quickly becoming straight boring paths with story breaks that only exist to break the feel of adventure.

They gave you an open world at the price of losing even the pretense of resistance and motivation. they gave you an open world where nothing you do mattered. Elixirs were often obsoleted by armor, had obscured spoilers with said armor, and nothing really mandated using them once you had the armors which were easy to get. Snowballs? Clearly you didn't beat it because with the easy to find Korok seeds and the vast selection of sturdy metal weapons after you start getting into the northern parts of the world away from the starting area you should have enough weapon slots and good weapons to bot even be bothered anymore by breaking. I hated the breakage system personally but at least I played enough to understand how little it matters later in the game. Hell you can warp to Zora's Domain anytime you need a decent weapon and grab the one that respwans at the shrine. It lasts quite a good long while.

This. The character customization in SM where trash compared to XY, XY had a wide verity of fashion styles and stuff while SM was literally 99% tank tops/t shirts and shorts/skirts. If they made a pokemon game without the endless handholding, a decent plot, good character customization, pokemon that follow you, season cycles or day/night cycles and any kind of club house/base it would literally be the greatest game in the series imo.

True, there is that. Even so, one would think that a franchise as large as Pokemon would be able to contest with Smash in terms of preorders. The kids finally learned how bad the new games are. You got to be mentally retarded to buy these games and the console for nostalgia desu.

I hope people realize that the Japanese aren't the only market for the games, but it's obvious that the games will sell in at least 10 million copies in Japan when it's population is 127 million.

That doesn't mean that one shouldn't boycott these games. GF and Masuda are doing nothing from their side, and this should show them the impact of giving dumbed down features to the fans.

nobody likes turn based combat, random encounters are fucking annoying. Get on with the times, it wasn't fun back in the '90s and it isn't fun now.
There is a reason why you're more likely to stumble upon a pokken tournament rather than a classic pokemon tournament.
Turn based combat is a dying niche and is holding pokémon back, gamefreak clearly wants pokémon to appeal to normies audiences, the fortnite, moba fucks. This is the only way possible.
People want pokémon battles to feel like the animes nintendo drops once in a while, not a pokémon switching fuckfest with people pretending they have an strategy besides deadlocking your oponent.
Besides, real time combat takes real skill, you can bet your ass kids want to be able to use their pikachus in a real combat and still have a chance at winning, not be stuck on some sick meta with cans and cannots.
