Compare to OS, S / M series is just a generic series with Memefaces. S / M is just overdoing it comedy, which makes the series less funny and more annoying. Comedy is not that easy where animator only has to put memeface everywhere. Comedy require better script, comic timing, punchline, gag, one liner, risky theme, creative story telling, less restriction and well written character. Slapsticks and comedy that's all SM has to offer and if it gets serious then it's just a few minutes and then it's over. In most episodes, over half of an episode is comedy when it comes to action and it would be better to focus more on the plot than comedy (SM episode 21 is a good example). Somehow I have a personality that does not have a personality. If you're serious episodes, then half of the episode should not be a slapsticks and comedy. This is not even funny but boring.
I think the reason why I did not feel any hype in AF arc was because the art style did not suit serious episodes and I can not take that seriously and so I did not get any hype. Somehow, the art style does not fit into serious episodes and does not even make it look serious. That could therefore be a reason for me why I felt no hype. Because of the art style I can not take serious episodes seriously because it does not seem serious by the art style, it looks rather strange. The lack of hype is also one of the reasons why SM is so boring. I know that the episodes 77-79 sound like hype but after the disappointment with the AF arc and the UB's I have the assumption that I will be disappointed again. That's why I prefer to wait.
