The people LGPE is targeted at reject gen2-7 and all regions besides Kanto, so a follow up game targeted at the same audience would have to be set in Kanto AGAIN and only have the original 151 pokemon AGAIN. You can only do so much when you're limited to the original 151 pokemon and Kanto.
If you add the mons from the other generations or another region then the genwunners will abandon the franchise once again like they did 20 years ago.
