As Let's GO! The new Box system is basically on your phone? You can carry all your Pokemon at all times and just use the party for battles.

It also helps with the difficulty becausd in modern times people don’t have time to go in Pokemon Centers and swap their Party Mons, so just swap them whenever the fuck you want.

Let’s Go! Marill! and Let’s Go! Togepi! will have a Pokemon center in your bag that you can use at any time (even during battle!) because the first Let’s Go! titles were very difficult.

That's a cutscene, and going by the Alola Games we know that they use different models for those (usually of higher quality, the player for instance can actually emote as their face is no longer a sole :^) texture) and chances are they're doing the same here.

I find it ironic that in firered I struggled to use flareon because the split wasn't a thing yet, while in this one, despite the split being there and flareon getting flare blitz, it has no ability and can't hold the charcoal I always used to give'em.

I don't think it has, but I feel its safe to assume the worst considering how every other thing has been with these games.
