Is it just me or do the Fire starters have the weakest design appeal as a collective? Like if I had to get a shirt, poster, etc with all of the starters of one type on it, I'd be deciding between Grass and Water since on average they're better.

Fire starters all turn angry and fierce in their final evo. They just come off as an edgy type in the end. Delphox was a good change of pace.

To be a little more thoughtful of it though, I'd say it's probably because the Grass and Water tend to be more over the top cool or cute while the Fire starters are generally kind of middle of the road.

All of them have their better and worse designs but as a whole I'd say that's somewhat objectively true even if I do prefer the Fire ones.

They're homogenous and boring. Maybe if only one or two of them turned out to be edgy strong bipeds with angry eyes it would have been ok... Delphox is the only real modern exception, but it has a fairly weak and simple design. I like it well enough, but it's not meant to be popular, I guess.

I think it's because Fire types have the least diverse body types maybe? Although I will admit I do prefer blue and green over red/orange. Delphox is ehh for me, I like the Shiny more than the normal (but the same goes for all the Kalos starters), and think the anime portrays it better than the game.
