Fuck people that keep on shilling for sound. It sounds awful and has absolutely no compatibility among the existing types. What would even be affected against a sound type? Why would a sound type do more damage do a specific type? It just doesn't make sense and they should feel bad. They say sound type would be useful for moves like growl etc.. but they aren't even physical moves so the type is useless. Cosmic type is also redundant, it's like creating a 'red type' just because there are red coloured pokemon.

The 18 we have just cover basically everything. People say Sound a lot, but I personally prefer it for most (not all) sound-based stuff to be taken up by Normal. After all, it's merely vibrations. It's fitting for Normal as a "special energy" with no particular elemental attributes.

People need to understand that GF only introduced a new typing to begin with, because an old typing needed to be balanced out properly due to their prominence and lack of weaknesses in general. That was a really retarded move on GF's behalf because introducing Fairies went beyond balancing Dragons, to the point where it downright nerfed the Fighting & Dark type to a big degree.

To make matters worse, a majority of Poison & Steel types are awful which makes it hard to check the relevant Fairies, and in general we need more Poison/Steel moves and better distribution of said moves. All they had to do was renovate the Ice typing and make them glass cannons as intended, or give more Pokemon Ice Beam to balance Dragons, but instead they had to bring in Fairies and the whole meta was altered. It's really retarded.

eh, i could see it making sense, like fighting a mouse is different from fighting a lion. it would mostly give a little something extra to final stage normal pokemon anyway rather than taking away their normal typing. and it definitely makes as much sense as bugs getting their own typing, why are normal caterpillars their own element? on that note why don't we get more normal bugs and normal fish pokemon?

To be fair dark got a big buff in the same generation by not being resisted by steel anymore and knock off having its base power more than tripled and dealing 50% more damage against a target with an item and in gen VII they got immunity to prankster.

No, Waters have been immensely strong since Gen 1 thanks to their bulk, and the introduction of strong Water/Ground players in Gen 4 with their ability to resist and deliver EQs has kept them relevant, not to mention Weather Teams.

Sonic could act as a good, less specialized counterpart to Electric, with a few more interesting matchups to not get pigeonholed against ground/rock types.

Something like:
Strong Against: Water, Flying, Steel, Dark
Weak Against: Ground, Ice, Rock, Sonic
No Effect on: Psychic

I forgot about these changes, but yea STAB Knock Off is a pretty demolishing move. Especially since it not only get's rid of the hold item, but Dark hits just about everything neutrally and will auto OHKO Pokemon weak against it if they don't have proper bulk. The Prankster immunity was kind of irrelevant since I don't see too many good Prankster users, but alas.

To this day I don't understand why Fairies were needed to balance the Dragon typing, when Water types are honestly way worse. Then again I guess Electric/Grass moves are more spread across Pokemon, and said Pokemon of those typings aren't as mediocre as Ice types. In general though the Water typing has powerful tools like Scald, you can pair them up with Sap Sippers or Lightning Rod. Basically the two weaknesses they do have are pretty irrelevant.

Water also always get good move, some pre-split special types still don't have a widely distributed physical move with no downside and decent power when water got cascade as soon as the split happened. Then the type got aqua tail and now liquidation when electric only physical move with 80 or more power that isn't exclusive to only one pokemon is wild charge a move with recoil.
