HMs would have been fine if they werent moves but separate over world abilities your pokes learned that didnt affect their move slots or battles at all.

yeah, that would have been great. makes more sense that way, a lapras should inherently be able to surf you across an ocean. what lets you teach them, getting gym badges? like, once you've gotten past x gym, you're proficient enough to train large bird pokemon to carry you?

fuck tutors, it'd be dumb if one random dude in a house was the only reason any bird pokemon could learn to carry a person. hm or gym badges are fine though.

Why would you do that to the gatr man? The move dleleter shoulr just be able to delete hm moves, at least after you beat the game or something.

Move deleter could delete them in old games. But keep the good hm moves as moves and have a separate overworld ability in addition to it. If hm moves were actually good and well typed I guess that would be a solution too
