Mega Charizard X will be basically the same as before, if not better, and probably the best Dragon-type of the game with almost no counters.
Machamp, that was good in Kanto tournaments, will be shit again because of the absence of No Guard. Same can be said for Mega Pidgeot, Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Beedrill.
Mega Charizard Y, while having a hude Special Attack stat, will lack coverage because of no Solarbeam.
I suppose the meta will have a Mega or 2 for each team (depending on singles/double), with physical or mixed Charizard X or simply Gyarados (that is also the best Dark type of the meta) in almost every team.
