Ports of Switch games and sequels/remakes using existing assets are not support, they're things you pump out to eek ehat little money you can left out of them.
In Japan recently the fucking Vita and XBO outsold the 3DS one week (XBO usually sells less than 100 a week there, in case you're unaware).
3DS is on life support with no real first party support just like every other handheld was after the next one released. By the end of next year all 3DS models will likely be killed leaving only the 2DS models for a few years with no actual game support once the 3DS models are done.
Not killing it outright doesn't mean it's alive. Until late last year you could still buy the Wii Mini. Was that alive? No, it fucking wasn't.
