LGPE is not meant for you.
It is not meant for diehard fans that would *care* about all of the simplifications it's making.
It's not meant for those that would care about copy-and-paste moves, or abilities missing, or anything else.
LGPE is a TUTORIAL. It is a tutorial for mainline Pokemon, aimed towards those who jumped onto the Pokemon bandwagon because of Pokemon Go. All of the flashy features- the customizeable starter, the following Pokemon, the bring-a-friend battling, et cetera, all of that is to get the Gobabbies hooked so they can get through the tutorial.
Their hope is that, once the Gobabbies go through the tutorial, they can go into Gen 8 and actually make an impact in sales numbers. And the reason they felt the need to do that is because, even after the mini-Pokemania that Go spawned, Sun and Moon did not see boosted sales numbers.
In Game Freak's eyes, Go failed to bring in new players. And the reason, they believe, is because Go is so different from mainline Pokemon games.
LGPE is a game meant to bridge the gap between Go and the mainline games. It's meant to be familiar to those who played Go, but at the same time, develop skills necessary to actually take the plunge into a mainline game.
Yes, it is trivialized. Yes, it is simplified. Yes, it's copy-and-pasted. Yes, throws away details from the mainline games.
But that's okay. It wasn't meant for you anyways. Now stop complaining about it.
