Honestly, the 3DS games look arguably better. The Switch models look washed out. If they went for a cel-shaded look with the Switch's 1080p graphics, it would look really good, but that plastic lighting makes the models look boring and even hard to make out.

While I'm still not exactly a HUGE fan of the graphics, I will agree seeing them side by side in comparison to the 3DS graphics it looks SLIGHTLY better. I still hope Generation 8 is better though.

Because I'm sittin here hoping that this look is just temporary for the Let's Go games.

1. no outlines.
We've gone with outlines all these years on resolutions where it was unavoidable for them to be heavily pixelated. Now there is finally the opportunity for outlines on graphics where they won't look like shit, but instead there is no outlines at all.
Making the models look like polished plastic figures.
2. why the fuck are the colors still this desaturated soap shit?
Seriously. Charizard is supposed to be a vibrant orange and light yellow, but instead it's almost a light peach colour with its belly more white than anything else.

I don't understand the reasoning behind it.
Does it make it more realistic? Why does it have to be realistic? Or what is this about?
