Why is everyone complaining about LGPE? GF a confirmed they are working on a mainline game for next year. And hopefully bc this game is completely pandering to normies and kids they won’t have to water down and simplify the next gen. Personally I think this is a great idea because now GF recognizes they have two different fan bases that they need to appeal to differently

Because it doesn’t necessarily mean the next game will be good and there’s a chance that gf will take implement LGPE’s mechanics in more mainline games. A lot of people don’t want that because of how braindead they are even relative to Pokemon’s generally easy gameplay. Plus lack of postgame, likely removed FrLg content, etc.

In a way, complaining about LGPE is helping with that. If they want to appeal to the people that don't like LGPE, then they need to take to heart what people are upset with regarding it and why they're upset - that way they can do their best to make sure the other games avoid having the same downsides, or focus on making what people have said they do like better. People following Pokemon? Great, now they can be confident and add that feature to Gen 8. People dislike the gym entry requirements? Great, now they know not to do that for Gen 8.

Honestly this. I know casualization has been getting steadily worse ever since Gen 6, to the point where Gen 7 grabs you by the dick and pulls you through the region manually by roadblocking everything, but everyone is having a spasm and acting as if LGPE completely destroyed the franchise. I'd be perfectly fine if they decided to make games like this each generation for the brain dead normies so they can appeal to the main fanbase and bring back the old formula for the main games.

The thing is why can't they just add an easy mode that has more tutorials for new players or a mode that disables abilities, items etc. Then the whole team could develop a singular game instead of spitting resources and talent to appeal to two types of fans with to mostly similar games.

Stop doomsday posting. Game freak have already stated that Gen 8 is being developed different than LGPE. In fact Masuda himself in an interview said that if LGPE was popular they would just continue making them alongside the actual main series games. Which is the smartest decision from a business standpoint since they recognize that they have too different audiences.

I hope Let’s Blow can sell 20 million so that Masuda’s to distracted with his new child that he doesn’t direct another actual main series game till he retires.

Who's to say Let's Go won't cross over with the mainline games at some point for whatever retarded reason? It's bad enough that they decided Let's Go was necessary when they've already made Generation 7 as retard proof as possible. I literally don't know what's so difficult about making a better effort at trying to teach new players the basics in depth and letting them get a hang of things themselves like everyone else did with previous generation titles.

Just because they're in charge of the series, doesn't mean they know what's best for the sake of the franchise and automatically deem every new implementation necessary and or something everyone would love. At least this is the future I can envision for the series. There's one unsettling thing about this though, and that's the possibility that they won't apply the extra money to expanding their team and boosting the quality of the next mainline games and beyond. I feel like Pokemon in general needs to have longer development times for the mainline titles instead of there being a title every year or two. Look at Zelda and Mario, and then glance back at Pokemon in this regard. That isn't an issue in the slightest for the other big Nintendo franchises. Of course they have different head developers but, you get the point.

That's because the other franchises have better developer studios in general. Gamefreak is about 1/3rd of the Pokemon franchise as a whole, and we're basically stuck with them for better or worse. Not only that but they're absolute shit at making 3D titles, so we're screwed.

Pretty much. People over hype the experience, when in reality it's always been a series about catching Pokemon and battling with them. How well designed the region is, or how the plot sets itself up has nothing to do with the basic formula and main point of the series. People just like looking for shit to project on the series.

The region is inconsequential. The plot is the same. You might've gotten different environments and thus different pokemon out of the deal, but said pokemon are also copy/pastes of the same roles we've had over and over. Since there is no meaningful plot, all characters are also meaningless. Why in the world would you like a game purely for it's music? That's why OSTs exist. Stop wasting your time with the game itself. Pokemon has never had good level design. There is nothing interesting. The community has nothing to do with the game itself.

Casuals and hardcore fans having their own separate entries makes perfect sense, and it's be fine to distinguish the two sides of the fanbase. It's like Mario having the New Super Mario Bros games while also having the 3D titles like Galaxy and Odyssey for the other side of the fanbase.

I don't know why people bitch about Kanto being pandered too. It makes sense that they're trying to appeal to their older fanbase and get them back into the groove of things since the franchise wouldn't be at the top of it's genre today if it wasn't for said fans of the series all those 20 or so years ago. Not to mention they've only pandered to Generation 1 for 2 Gen's now, 6/7. People just like exaggerating about shit since they've been so direct about it. I mean yea we have 7 Generations of Pokemon to pander or reference to, but Kanto is undeniable the most important region.
