Although I'm quite unsure about LGPE myself, and my opinions towards it are getting less and less positive each day, but doesn't it seem a tad unfair to blindly screech about it before actually fucking playing it? Like I'm sure even after releasd you fucks will cherrypick one or two screenshots to shitpost about without bothering to look up gameplay or some shit.

Also the "KANTOOO" and "OH NO NO NO" memes are gettin' pretty stale.

Fair enough.
Part of me wants to say that they're just trailers and you can't judge the quality of an entire game from a couple trailers.
But another agrees with you, the trailers really don't have anything to offer. I mean they're showing 5 year old Megas like they're new.

So you need to spend money on a game in order to judge whether it's worth your money or not?
Anyway, the game was confirmed for garbage the instant the 1:1 copypaste of the GameBoy map was revealed

Why? It's a reimagining of a game we've already played. We almost certainly know everything the game has to offer already. And the game is so basic there's functionally no difference between playing it and watching a video of someone else play it. You literally cannot use the "it's not out" argument anymore.

No, it's a revamp
A reimagining would have the map updated to the Switch capabilities (bigger cities, more organic routes...etc)

Trailers are supposed to make a game look good, ideally even better than it actually is. The trailers are shit, which leaves us with two possibilities:
-the games are just as shitty as the trailers make them seem
or
-GF doesn't know how to make trailers. And if GF can't even make a decent trailer, why would you trust them to make a decent game?

Last I checked, GF weren't in the business of marketing stuff to anyone (they leave that to T{PCi, since they were set up to handle that side of the franchise).

The problem is, unlike other games which at least have plenty new to bring to the table, LGPE doesn't except for the Mystery Pokemon, revealing more about Trace AKA Your Friendly Rival™ and more customization options for your Starter.
And since it's being made for people who haven't ever truly gotten into Pokemon or haven't played since Gen 1, this also means they have to start showing features most people are already aware of like Mega Evolutions, or reintroduce them to the "it's literally the same game but in 3D" Kanto they should already know about by now.

You know what's sad? How many comments I saw trying to guess what names the Mega Evolutions would have or suggesting names for them ("Shrimpados", lol) like they haven't existed and been known for 5 years.

Also the fact you can import GO 'mons and the Pokéball Mew means they're shaping up to drop a Bank-compatibility update in the future for it to give everyone a 151 head-start on catching them all again in the next games.

The main worry isn’t that LGPE are going to be shit (we know they are), but that Gen 8 will be casualized. Normies aren’t going to get Gen VIII if it goes completely back to the old mechanics, meaning Gen VIII will certainly be casualized to a degree in order for normies to buy them.
