I had no problem with Gen 1 or 2 back in my youth, but apparently "muh mobile gaming" means for this day and age we need to go from a simple, straightforward and enjoyable game to something like LGPE, where it's mobile-tier braindead except the $60 USD you spent also doubles as pre-paying for all the Push To Win Buttons so you never have any trouble.
Type Chart Hints, I understand, there's over 800 bastards to keep up with along with their form(e)s and any moves that can change their typing.
Tutorials, sure, but I never see them focusing on the aspects that should be talked about that LGPE wants to pretend never existed, like Abilities, Held Items that are more basic than Berries and basically anything that isn't "Press Start to open the Menu!", "Water Types are Super Effective against Rock Types!" or "Poison drains your HP in battle, use an antidote to cure it!"
And even then, it's not like they ever really utilize these tools they've crafted in the games before unless it's a Battle Facility or a sole NPC who only has one Pokemon to use said tool, yet LGPE chose to omit them completely while still keeping other features such as the Phys/Spec Split, Mega Evolutions, the three Post-Gen 1 Types and Moves that didn't exist in Gen 1, making the whole thing feel like a disjointed amalgamation with a near-1:1 Kanto as the backdrop.
