>>36359449>what remains of GF have not shown any improved understanding of design>the scope of the games has not gotten larger at all in their entire history, only using cheap tricks like having large "buildings" in the background to give the illusion of scale, most embarrassingly in XY, and in SM they didn't even bother to do this, so I have no faith that they will use the improved technology to do anything that couldn't be done on the Game Boy>more and more of the games have had to be farmed to contractors and outside studios to make assets, which is only going to be worse as the technology improves>the key people in charge, most obviously Masuda, have repeatedly demonstrated misguided beliefs and a complete lack of ambition, treating each game like a product coming off an assembly line, just a new model for a new year, the thing in between the last game and the next gameYeah, no. It will be the exact same game it's been since Gen 3. You'll get a hundred new Pokemon, a new gameplay gimmick, slightly shinier graphics (read: SM running at a higher resolution), and the most "impressive" thing will be that some routes (which will be functionally the same size as every other game) will have some big looking things in the background and there will be a city with some big buildings you can't go into.
Sure, maybe it will be good, I'd love to be surprised. But you're naive if you're expecting anything more than the exact same thing we've gotten for four generations straight.
