>>36362467Political climate may have an effect on nintendo's games but they never take a stance on it. Like the difference between old Looney Toons doing black face and modern Looney Toons. Just because they stopped doing doesn't mean they suddenly decided they joined the black Panthers, they wanted it to remain family friendly and now there's another group to consider. So you just stop doing it without taking a stand on which side is right or wrong. Back to the thread topic there's a strong push for strong female characters now but Nintendo didn't suddenly start cranking out trans females. They just released a new Metroid game (without acknowledging that other game) and didn't zero in on her femininity at all. Which ironically is closer to actual feminism than what a lot of SJW fans preach, treating women as the status quo rather than some progressive outlier. Pokemon has had Male and female champions in addition to Male and female villains. Well admittedly there's only one female pokemon villain but baby steps.
Nintendo treats people like... people. With a rainbow of personalities and quirks that could potentially translate to gameplay or at least inform the experience they're trying to make.
