A handful of people tried because on the surface I looked like prime bullying material.
being a poor, pasty white pale, book/language/computer/video game obsessed autistic, really late bloomer was all they needed.
However, being an autist, I gave zero fucks about their nonsense so they quickly moved on. Bullies just want the attention mommy and daddy aren't giving them. If you don't give it to them, they fuck off.
And that was only helped by the fact that, in general, I was (still am, really though I don't bother with people much at all these days) liked by everyone by default so when they tried, they got no response from me and everyone else thought them the bag of dicks they were demonstrating themselves to be.
Not getting a response from the one they're trying to bully and a negative response from everyone else just further cemented I wasn't the one to be picking on.
Pokémon never even entered the equation because it never got to specifics.
