Bullshit, that would be Skyward Sword.

Breath of the Wild has dozens upon dozens of subtle mechanics that are left to the player to discover without some mouthpiece constantly flying out of link's head to shove it down your throat. Armor upgrades are fucking broken, but before you get good armor, the difficulty can be kind of brutal. It is barely gated at all to the point you can run straight to the final boss after getting off the plateau. Stop trying to swing around your massive gamer dick like BotW is way beneath you

My only real problem with botw is the bland combat. I feel like nearly every corner of the world I explored had something worthwhile.

Yeah I generally avoid combat, considering that a single encounter means I'm probably losing a weapon and every time I get hit I have to open up the menu to eat food, unless I have level 3 armor or higher. But I replayed it recently and I am still discovering little mechanics I didn't know about. Meanwhile shit like Skyward Sword Fi will tell you how to run 5 hours into the game

They changed nothing except weapons, basically. BotW was a return to the series roots, not a shake up of any kind. Stop repeating what reviewers who have never played the games and don't know what they're talking about say.

BotW realistically didn't need a subtitle at all. It was basically the original game in 3D with nods to everything else since. It could have been treated as a straight remake and basically was in terms of development since it's based on a 2.5D version of the original they mocked up.

As for the question, obviously not. LGP/LGE would've been the time to do it.

BotW = return to TLoZ roots and building up from there.
Odyssey = return to 3D Mario (64) roots and building up from there.
LGP/LGE = return to Kanto and stripping it to hell while pandering to people who don't play and don't care.

Gen 8 is already lesser just for it not starting with a properly redone Kanrto.

Them complaining about people expecting them to actually play the game before reviewing it has been a major topic for the last year or so at least.

It started with one dude but most of them came out of the woodwork to defend it.

Is there something wrong with you? No one hated SS except the fans a (and morons who couldn't swing a Wii remote) and difficulty wise the combat made SS the hardest Zelda at the time. Casuals stayed as far as they could from that.
