>>36369604>>36369590It doesn't even have to be shitting on Unova pokemon. It could just be showing disappointment. I remember there was a thread that happened to involve an extremely civil and elaborate conversation about why many people were let down by Black and White when it was first released. Then immediately three pro-BW/B2W2 threads popped up when the conversation winding down.
When people say that Emerald had too much water, had noticeably worse sprites than Gen 2, and annoying music, I never see Emerald appreciation threads immediately pop up.
When people say that Platinum had too many HM usage, and inferior Battle Frontier, and started the trend of legendaries hogging too much of the story, I never see Platinum appreciation threads immediately pop up.
When people say that Heart Gold/Soul Silver had a terribly easy level curve, made required areas out of places that were optional in GSC, integrated the worst rematch system in the entire franchise, and Johto pokemon dirstribution was made worse than the original GSC games, I only rarely see HGSS appreciation threads immediately pop up.
However, when people say that Black/White/Black 2/White 2 had an overbearing story, started the trend of characters interrupting gameplay at almost every turn, introduced regional pokemon that couldn't properly make use of their stats/abilities, and had an underwhelming region layout, I ALWAYS see a Generation 5 appreciation thread immediately pop up.
I wanted to believe it was just trolling or falseflagging, but this same pattern has been going on for years. And I know it's sincere because the Gen V fans are always argumentative and needlessly persistent. At first it made me annoyed, then angry, then sort of sad. Maybe the other anon was right in that people call them "unovabortions" because it was they're their first pokemon games they experienced and have too much of a childhood attachment to them. I don't want to believe such labels, but every day it seems more true.
