>>36387866The dialogue in SM/USUM is complained about in general as sounding weird by some Japanese fans. Some go as far as to say it feels like an English game that was translated into Japanese by a non-native speaker.
It's hard for me say exactly why since it's not my first language, but when playing SM in Japanese I did feel like the dialogue was strange in places. Like they were trying so hard make simple sentences that they ended up writing something that sounds similar to Google translate sentences. Or characters in general over-used childish-sounding onamonapia words, and some random trainer dialogue was almost nonsense, though those are just kind of poor writing problems.
Trying to look up any specific examples from Japanese fans, I'm finding comments about things like overuse of pronouns and conversations between characters not flowing naturally. I saw someone point out the description for Grassy Seed being weird, and looking it, yeah the wording is vaguely awkward. The biggest example people bring up is when Gladion tells Lusamine not to open the warpholes.
>ウルトラホールを開けるな!ビーストを暴れさすとかない!The second sentence there does sound really weird. 暴れさす isn't even a word. I guess he's trying to say that she can't let the Beasts rampage, but it's spelled wrong in two places. After reading some more apparently さす is kansai-ben, which is already random for Gladion to be using, but apparently さすとかない is still strange even to someone from Kansai.
I haven't looking at the Pokedex entries specifically much, but I have seen complaints that the Gen VII entries are more weirdly casual and slang-y than previous generations.
