Salamence makes sense though. It comes out of Bagon as a completely different kind of Pokemon than it started out as, so a shift in the name scheme is appropriate.

Its almost like Flygon wouldve made sense for evolution for multiple reasons. Obviously they switched it at the last second to push it harder as a 'cool' mon.
