>>36383303>Types are essentially the core mechanic of pokemon battles, so reducing it to a brainlet simulator seems antithetical to the concept of pokemon.Ok, so before i peace out, 3 things
1. typing is a major part of pokemon, but if you think the game telling the player which move is super effective against another pokemon even if the player itself has no idea about typing is dumbing down the game too much and thus making it too easy, then you're just wrong, because like i said, knowing that is just the basics, you still have to learn other more advanced stuff like for example, when to use a physical or special move against another pokemon that has high defenses, when to use a non super effective move because it has higher bp and stab make it do more damage than a non stab super effective, and when to retreat and change pokemon because it's in danger to get shut down by a faster/stronger pokemon.
2. i take you're someone who has been playing the game for a while and know the type matchup, so, does this really affects you?, you already knew this info, so right now it seems you're getting mad thinking other people might not have to go through the annoying steps you had to go whenever you wanted to make sure you were picking the super effective move
3. while in the main game you can't turn this off, in multiplayer, this is totally disabled, so those people who didn't bother to memorize the typing chart, now are fucked, and are gonna have a MUCH harder time going against people like you, who bothered to learn the chart, so in the end, the only advantage this feature gives, is just a minor help to the players in their regular playthroughs, people who want to take this seriously and play with other people will have to bother and memorize the chart
well, at least those who want to play online, i think this feature is still activated if you play with friends
