Second, i want them to leave the battle mechanics alone. If they must touch them do it to improve something, not to dumb it down. Abilities and natures can be annoyed for breeding and competitive usage but i'm a causal fag that likes the little personal touches and held items are just useful for people who don't want to use potions and shit in battle but still need a little extra hp (ie berirres) or just want some sort of edge in battle to help weaker mons.
third, I want something new that i can't give form the other kanto games. Fr/lg have the sevi ilses and while i feel that it was implemented in a less than optimal way it'd be neat to revisit them. and if it's just the same gyms in the same order with the same rocket quest shit again why buy this when i can play an older game.
also the fuck is with gym requirements. they seem so arbitrary. a water or grass mon? why not a fighting mon like you can normally actually catch before brock? Fighting is good against rock unless they changed the type chart without telling us.
Now that's not to say this game does nothing right. I really do like the following pokemon returning and the cutesy dress up with your starter. but a couple visual gimmicks isn't worth loosing battle mechanics i've adored since there introduction and the mons that won't be available.
The first kanto remakes gave us sevi ilses. The johto remakes gave us a battle frontier post game and the pokeathelon minigames which i enjoyed. the hoeen remakes gave us the post game delta story and new megas. Plus all these games had battle mechanics that were improved and expanded beyond what their originals had and you can transfer all pokemon that had created up to that point into the ds gen 4 remake and the 3ds oras. I expect more form a remake than just flash visuals and dress up games.
