>>36388897I'm with you, OP. Stufful's awkward looking mouth, strange looking white ring(is that just a white stripe of fur or a body part?) that merges into its ears when it evolves, and tanuki looking tail don't sit well with me. Also, somehow its tag(it gives off a smell from its butt tag to communicate?) and stuffed animal motif are even creepier being a plain old living animal than a possessed doll like Banette.
Bewear's design also rubs me the wrong way. Being fighting type because they(every member of the species apparently) watched martial artists training in the woods is stupid. Can any pokemon gain fighting typing by learning martial arts? No, that's what fighting type coverage moves are. Also, I get the whole "guy in a suit/mascot character" thing from japanese convenience stores and maybe it's because I don't live in japan to see them, but it looks like I could just pop off this things head. I don't understand how people can call Incineroar a fursuiter, then just ignore Bewear completely. Also, I don't like what they did with it in the anime. The gag overstayed its welcome after the second time.
The "hates being touched as Stufful, but likes it as Bewear" thing and the way it fights are about the only things I like from this evo line, but Stufful's also a pain to deal with in Little Cup.
Mudsdale and Mudbray are mine. Again, I get that they're based on Clydesdale horses, but... Brown horse with dreads? Baggy pants for hooves? Its tail looks exactly like a leg on its ass? Mudbray plays the Cydesdale thing a little more straight, so I'll give it credit there, but it's still a little ugly, mainly because of its eyes. Again, also a pain in Little Cup.
I feel like people like this line because they used it in single player, heal spammed to get Stamina boosts and win, then thought it was the best pokemon ever. I'd have been neutral about it as just a design I don't like, but I have to use it as a ride pokemon and Hapu shows it repeatedly. No thanks.
