>>36399329If the VGC ones from the past serve as reference there would be lots of theory and teambuliding going on at the start, then the shit gets stale in 3-4 months or less and many leave, and of the ones left there's the ones that just play quietly and alone, the paranoid ones that won't discuss anything out of fear of being scouted/outplayed/doxxed on real tournaments, the ones that just fuck around on showdown all day long perfecting teams and also likely gonna be a good chunk of close-minded people that think they know it all and just jerk over e-celebs all day long, add to that the ones that just shuffle known teams until a "new strat" makes a breakthrough and everyone starts copying it, making it even more stale and quiet, so combine everything above and everyone just flees and does their own thing in peace.
As for doubles, singles and special formats on cart they are played but I guess there's not much to discuss on metas with cemented stuff.
As for smogon we know how it's gonna be: Complaining about X mon, Y format or Z moderator, people baiting each other, etc.
In conclusion most people that care do their own thing alone or go to format specific places to talk about it, and the ones that try here either get drowned by infighting, shitposting, fags that can't live without discord, and most important of all, pokémon metas get stale over time so a lot of people here you can bet don't play anymore or get bored really fast.
