My nephew is turning 7 next month and I want to give him a pokemon game as a gift does anyone have a recommendation on what his first game should be?

They're actually-good games that have built-in tutorials that you can completely ignore if you want.

Seriously, it's how modern games SHOULD run tutorials. Not how they're gonna do it in LGPE, where it's fucking forced.

Because I can't leave that's the problem you can see what the average grown up people who still didn't leave look like by just checking this board. There's a chance he'll just stop playing at 12 and move on but otherwise he'll either become a furry or a 20yo who complains about children games not being mature/hard or is in love with a 10yo fictional girl or takes place in autistic wars with others of his same kind about who's the best starter.

Kalos is a fun time with gobs of pokemon. It's not the best game I think, but the best intro game is not gonna be the best game for a fan.
Compare to anime: many fans worship Death Note, but it's probably not the best show to start someone with.
