>>36407811I think that Mt.Coronet and the fact that Sinnoh is implied to be the birthplace of all the universe are good enough justification to expand on the current PokéDex in new and interesting ways. Weavile, Froslass, Chingling, Lickilicky, and Probopass are absolute superstars and justify themselves by A) pushing the existing Pokémon's concept and taking it to a logical conclusion, B) Subverting those existing concepts by making a Pokémon with a twist, and C) Giving typing boosts and stat boosts to neglected Pokémon . Yes the concept of leaning on so many existing ideas may have been misguided, and there may have been a few too many, but that is well worth it for all the great Pokémon we got from it. And hey if it didn't work for you then just 1 game later you got an entire PokéDex worth of completely original Pokémon.
