It's clear that GF no longer cares about core fans who actually value game quality, features, etc. They are now outright pandering to nostalgia normies and smartphone children, and it shows in the games' quality and replayability.
Would anybody be interested in bouncing around ideas for a new monster capturing/battling franchise that's aimed at fans of BW2/Platinum/HGSS rather than the LGPE crowd? I think we should make it as an HTML5 game that's played in a browser, on a mobile, on on a client. We can also avoid making GF's same mistakes because we aren't bound by a major corporation or a need to market merch (at least for now). I want to capture the original spirit of Pokemon with all the fun of battling and trading, but with the inclusion of fostering a more personal relationship with your monsters (ie a more robust virtual pet element). If interested, share ideas here.
