What a stupid argument. Gamefreak's whole marketing department was tasked with raising expectations by whatever means necessary. If expectations were low they weren't doing their job. They borderline lied with some of the trailers, showing off huge new locations that ended up being one screen large.

There were also plenty of reasons to expect USUM to be B2W2 tier. Yet people act like "I knew it was going to be lazy all along, look how smart I was!"

No matter your expectations, the games still cost 40 dollars
