So did someone at Gamefreak had a loved one killed by a falling tree? I can't see any other reason they would hate this type so much.

The thing is that I don't think they planned it. In gen I and II it wasn't an issue but as the Bug, Ice, Poison, Flying types developed (such as move X-scissor) they nerfed little by little. The sad thing is that most of the weaknesses make sense.

The least they could do is make grass resistant to Fairy instead of fire.

That's stupid since every Water type learns Ice Beam and Gen 1 was full of Poison anyways.

Grass hardly works as a support type because Ice is everywhere and Flying is extremely common. The reason Venusaur even works as a tank is thanks to Thick Fat.

I don't think the issue would be so bad if Grass types actually fucking learned moves. Give them Earth Power, Power Gem, fucking anything more than just Grass and Normal type moves. Jesus.

Hate? Let me tell you about hate. There are 133 water type pokemon across the series that can flll the pokedex. If the word hate was engraved on each of these pokemon who could learn an ice type move without suffering the penalty of being an ice type then it wouldn't equal even an ounce of hate gamefreak has for ice type pokemon.

bug also have it rough (their best usage would be in gen I when psychic were OP but lol no decent bug moves and gen 2 added dark to ruin their best thing just like fairy ruin ice types) but have been getting better and better the last gens. while gen VI making fairy strong to bug just to shit on bug was stupid, its getting some great moves and pokemons the last games. meanwhile ice got shit like crabrawler, the most useless pokemon in all history

Just press your Z-Cancer move of choice and your opponent dies just because of how high the BP of them are so resistances don't even matter
I knew once I switched my Water Type into a Fire Type (the absolutely correct play to do) only for it to Z-Cancer and one shot my Water type even though it resisted the move that Pokemon was dead forever
