I like Uranium. But Insurgence and Prism are also very popular. There must be over 100 of these out there, and some of them are pretty weird.

I liked Uranium a lot as well! It did well sticking to the original flavor of the games, fewer theatrics and tougher battles. Way more enjoyable than Sun/Moon for sure. Not sure what to recommend as far as other games though, haven’t dipped my toes in a whole lot.

How so? I guess in the later stages with the Nuclear typing that takes quite the turn in a different direction. But everything else seems "original flavor" or whatever that means.

Uranium was alright. It's not as bad as people make it out to be but it definitely didn't live up to the hype of a fangame that had been worked on for years.

I enjoyed Prism a lot but I think the best one that I've played is Gaia, though it isn't complete yet.

Sage is my favorite, even unfinished. Best fakemons and region by far.

Clover is pretty good after the edgyness wears off

Red++ is wonderful

Coral and Orange demos are great

Prism is probably the most complete

Roaming Red for a new experience

Crystal Clear is alright but once you're into the swing of things it feels too similar to the old games

All the Drayno hacks are fun I guess but they get old quickly.

I liked what's out of the Sage demo but that's probably just my bias talking. Touhou Puppet Play was also pretty nice, lots of nice quality of life features there.
