Just look into how GO did during its first few months of release. Just remember factor in the lack of major glitches and the fact that you'll have to buy the game, the accessory if you want it and/or Mew and, if you don't already have one, a Switch.

I think it will do ok but it wont get the sales Gamefreak seem to think it will, it's had more backlash than any other pokemon game and also, the target audience are either not old enough to buy a Switch/parents won't buy one, or they're Go players who only play Go and don't care much about the actual Pokemon games ( i know people who are so into Go but think LGPE looks way too 'kids game' and 'Immature')

The most support it's gotten is from teenage girls on Tumblr that want it either because of Eevee, the "rival", or because they think the chibi artstyle is cute. Even if it sells well it's definitely going to be considered the worst game in the series.

If that figure that USUM sold 7~ million copies is true, then the worst-selling Pokemon RPGs still sold 3+ million each. Let's Go will presumably sell more than that for RGBY imagery alone. Money is no concern here.

I am curious what Game Freak's bottom line has looked like throughout the 3DS era; the last time I saw that conversation had it was said that their game budgets are no longer drops in the bucket but they've been so conservative with them that cost spike hasn't really eaten their grand returns.

Preorders are a simple way to gauge demand. If the game is gonna sell gangbusters preorders generally reflect that.

If mobile games are doing so well, then why don't they just make an actual fucking mobile game instead of ruining the mainline games in some bastardized attempt at "competing with the mobile market" that no one will buy because it demands $360 USD Minimum just to actually start playing?
