While it was forced, that one DP episode where Water and Electric types are forced into love technically proves that the possibility exists by Piplup and Pikachu's account.
And while it doesn't matter to canon, Japan's fanbase adores shipping those two far more than any of the straight Pikachu stuff the anime has attempted.

What if this was changed? Like theres a 10% chance that the Pokemon was gay and attract would work on it only if it was the same gender?
