Serious question, is there any point playing RBG and GSC when I’ve played FRLG and HGSS?

I'd actually argue the opposite.
RBY are worth playing to see how far the series has come and experience the unique mechanics first hand. GSC are just not fun

If you like the old mechanics and Gen 1 glitches, sure. If you just want to go through Kanto or Johto, just grab FRLG and HGSS.

The glitchy mess is what makes it the most fun.

Hell, it was what really took the series beyond. If it weren't for shit like Missingno. feeling like hidden shit when you're a kid who really doesn't know how it works and then finding out there is legitimately hidden content (Mew) opening your imagination to what else might be hidden it probably would've never taken off.

Who doesn't know a totally off the wall way to supposedly get Pikablu, for example?

I'd bet on many more people knowing Gen 1 for it's glitches and supposedly hidden secrets than will have ever even played it.

Glitches in general literally sustain some YouTube channels with Pokémon being the richest goldmine that's ever existed.

I like to go back and play gen I and II every now and then because they're simple, fun games and a great time waster. I like to pop open roms every now and then when I have a few minutes.

FRLG and HGSS are better games though.

Stadium connection.
That's literally the only reason, but it's a very good one and I'm surprised no one mentioned it.
Stadium 2 with a gen 2 game is an amazing experience, I recommend it if you never tried it.

HGSS ruin the entire atmosphere of Johto, along with terrible remixes of the original tracks. The only things it offered over the originals was a better balanced meta, but online is terminated on DS, so that's a moot advantage.
