>>36431773Have you actuially fucking played Pokken? THe 3d phase plays like a traditional 2d fighter and is what most of the game is built around. It plays fine, and the phase shift system actually increase it's complexity via forcing you to consider and factoring in phase points in addition to move';s frame data and damage output in terms of deciding what moves to use.
>Roster selection is assExplain how. All but like 2 characters are popular pokemon for a variety of demographics. You have mandatory shillmons like lucario, Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Charizard, you have popular mons like blaziken, blastoise, gengar, gardevoir, and garchomp, you have pokemon that are poopular amonjgst the more hardcore pokemon fanbase like Chandelure, Weavile, Scizor, Sceptile, and Machamp, Suicuine and Darkrai are the most popular/iconic legendaries that actually would work as fighters, Braixen is there for furfags, etc.
The entire fucking roster bar Empoleon and Croagunk are popular pokemon, represent nearly every type, and a variety of body shapes, with not only just bipeds but also saurians, objectmons, quadrapeds, small animal shaped ones, etc.
It's honestly almost fucking perfect, i've yet to see a single legitmate complaint about it as a whole, 99% of the gime it's just people who are assmad their favorite didn't make it in, want it to have like 60 characters and don't get that that doesn;t work for actual competitive fighters, or people who just want the whole roster to be fighting types even though that'd miss the whole fucking point
