Also, the sparkle isn't exactly the same as gen 7. There's an extra glitter of smaller multicolored stars around the big star, and the sparkle sound effect is different.

In the core games, you get the same amount of experience catching the Pokémon no matter how you catch it. And earlier games gave you no experience at all, which necessitated grinding. Put the weak one in front, encounter, switch to the strong one, win, and repeat. That sit wasn’t fun or engaging, it was a fucking chore.

It's fine in the context of how pokemon are found in this game. It'd be shitty if you found, say, a shiny Doduo but lost the chance to catch it because it was blocked off by a pidgey or whatever.

There's literally no importance of having a shiny in this game other than to say "oh cool, I have a shiny soandso", it's pretty much purely cosmetic for this game.

Anyway, even this method is probably slower than swap breeding, which Let's Go has no access too. No cherry picking natures, IVs, abilities or egg moves either even if most of those don't exist in Let's Go

Why would you gain experience from CATCHING pokemon, it doesn't even make sense. You'd have like 100 shitmons by the 3rd gym. Obviously GOfags don't mind because they're braindead idiots but in terms of core mechanics it doesn't make sense.
Also, the only JRPGs that reward extra experience for 'technique' are braindead action RPGs like new FF games. The vast majority of traditional turn-based JRPGs use static experience values for encounters with limited modifiers because that's what allows control of pacing most efficiently.

Gen 4 made it feel like something special. Gen 5 makes it look like you're just fucking healing it before the match and everything after that was underwhelming. Gen 2 was also pretty cool. I don't even remember Gen 3 for some reason.

the problem of putting all sprites in the overworld, yes. i don't particularly find okay to see the sprites in the overworld, its not like you ever saw a sparkle of shine whenever there was a shiny in a particular patch of grass, enter the battles and find your shinies for yourself, but i don't mind having it. i just don't get what's so AMAZING about it for your autism to trigger this hard and make you fight everyone in a thread just for not finding it as incredible as you are

Other than sending your own pokémon, it's missing the "grass blades moving out of the way" effect and a shadow becoming the wild pokémon, but that would be pointless here.
I wanted to say that at least it now doesn't take forever until it can take your input, but then it spends a lot of time on that white flash for whatever reason.
