Is it the mouth? the body? I usually focus myself on the arm cannon, which is really cool to me.

pink spikes seems to be the chief complaint, but it also applies to several other Gen 4 pokemon. Magmar is ugly as fuck, even if you hate it nothing was lost

goes from a cool spiky dinosaur with nice details to a fat retarded dude with simplified plasticy features. and fuck the arm cannons, they weren't a clever addition for magmortar or to rhyperior, the floppy sleeve arms look so much worse than the original claws. baby dinosaur, to dinosaur, to plastic downs eggman. it sucks.

its funny to see people being so down on rhyperior and magmortar though but the medarot overdesigned crap from mega evos are totally fine

For me, it's because magmar loses his design wich was based around lava/magma. And it looks stupid.

So it's mainly that Magmar felt like some sort of lizard monster that could naturally swam around in lava, while Magmortar just feels like an stationary tank.

I like the arm cannons though.
