It has been extremely slow since gen 7.
The combination of gen 7 dying extremely fast in terms of community engagament with the games, and Discord dominating, killed these types of forums hard.

What bugs me about this community is the lack of derivative works outside of fanarts and romhacks. Other gaming communities have original songs, musical videos, fangames made from scratch, plethora of doujinshis, conventions and more. Pokémon barely has any of that.
