Include a feature in a game, see the fans love it, and remove it the next gen only to add it several years later, when you have gathered a bunch of new fans, to advertise it as a brand new thing. GF has said that they do that so that every game would be unique in some way, but I think that were their true intentions all along. It is also true that for LGPE they only had to upgrade 151 models + alola forms, though. I wouldn't be surprised if some years from now (since the walking animations for pokemon had already been made for USUM, at least for most of them), super training and pss clones came back and we got trailers saying stuff like "connecting with other people has never been easier!"
